The Logistics Shift Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the logistics team during the assigned shift. Ensures smooth flow of goods, efficient use of resources and adherence to company policies and safety standards. Acts as a key contact for operational issues and supports the team in achieving set objectives.
What will be your job description?
Oversee logistics operations during the shift, including receiving, warehousing, order picking and shipping.
Planning and allocation of resources (personnel, equipment, storage space) to ensure efficient operations.
Ensuring adherence to schedules and prioritization of tasks based on operational needs.
- Supervising the logistics team and providing clear guidance and support.
- Organising pre-shift briefings and post-shift reviews, communicating objectives, updates and feedback.
- Training, motivating and developing team members to maintain high team performance.
- Ensuring that all logistics activities meet quality standards and comply with company policies and regulations.
- Regular checking of inventory accuracy, stock levels and operational processes.
- Promoting and enforcing workplace safety measures, regular inspections and addressing risks.
- Identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to optimize processes.
- Acting as the first point of contact for operational issues during the shift and resolving them in a timely manner.
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and preparing shift reports for management.
What knowledge and skills should you have?
Min. 2-3 years of experience in logistics or warehouse management.
Experience in team management or similar position an advantage.
Ability to problem solve and work under pressure.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of logistics systems (e.g. WMS, ERP) and MS Office.
