The Customer Quality Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our products and meeting the expectations of our BMW customer. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in quality assurance and quality management systems, fluency in English and German, and direct experience with BMW quality processes and expectations.
What will be your job description?
- Resolving customer complaints and coordinating corrective actions (8D reports, PDCA, Ishikawa, 5Why).
- Communication with customers regarding product quality and technical requirements.
- Analysis of the causes of problems and implementation of improvement measures.
- Working with manufacturing, development and suppliers to optimize quality.
- Participation in customer audits and preparation of documentation (PPAP, FMEA, control plans).
- Monitoring of quality indicators (PPM, complaints, internal scrap rates) and suggesting improvements.
- Employee training in quality and customer standards.
What knowledge and skills should you have?
- Education in quality assurance or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, supplier quality assurance and quality management systems in the automotive industry.
- Fluency in English and German (written and spoken) is a must.
- Direct experience with BMW processes, standards and quality expectations preferred.
- Strong understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, tools and documents such as 8D report, PPAP, FMEA, CP and SPC.
- Experience with customer audits and conducting internal process and product audits.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management system standards.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to drive continuous improvement and problem solving.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other quality software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
