Fifth month in the company

May is over and I am back with another part of the blog from behind the scenes of building our new NOBO Automotive plant in České Budějovice.
Ground breaking ceremony
As you could already read in my previous blog, where I basically copied the press release, in mid-May a ceremony took place in the construction area of the new hall, where the first columns of our new hall were erected. What was originally planned as a small event for 20-30 participants grew into a spectacular event with over 70 participants from NOBO China management, customer representatives BMW Group, local politicians, potential suppliers of our company and last but not least representatives of the development company GARBE Industrial Real Estate GmbH .
The event itself lasted about 3 hours, but it was preceded by several weeks of preparation - after all, we were on the premises of the construction site and this was the first opportunity for NOBO to get acquainted with the market, so we wanted everything to be perfectly planned to the last detail and especially safe for all participants. The host of the event was Tereza Tobias and she was absolutely fantastic, she switched fluently from Czech to English and given her experience from the Autosalon show she was the perfect choice for this type of event from my point of view. I originally thought that given my extensive experience in moderating (well, okay, I only moderated the Gymnasium in Strakonice in 2012) I could handle moderating myself. But when I saw how natural Tereza looked on stage, I have to take my hat off to her and admit that we made a good decision by engaging her.

We have hired an agency to help us organize the event Chilli Production with whom we will now work on other areas of external and internal communication. We have a lot of plans and I believe that besides my blog you can look forward to other new channels where we will share information from the company, current news, open positions, etc. Otto Kovarik, Tomas Jarolim i Marek Homolka are real pros and I look forward to seeing the results of our work together. Here is a short video from our first event together.

Commission at SZZ
To make matters worse, in May I managed to sit for a few days as an external practitioner for the state final exams at the Faculty of Economics University of South Bohemia in České Budějovicewhere I myself completed my master's degree seven years ago. In fact, I must admit that I was much less nervous this time. For this opportunity I would like to thank especially Jaroslav Vrchota, who remembered me and regularly gives me the opportunity to return to the University, whether in the form of lectures and exercises in HR courses or just for state examinations.

New arrivals
In May, 3 new employees joined us. The first one was since the beginning of May Marcel Gálwho will be working at NOBO Automotive as HSE manager, i.e. he will be responsible for topics related to occupational safety, health and environmental protection.
Then, during May, the first ever woman joined us - Marie Feitlová for the position of Material Planning Supervisor in the Logistics Department. As of the first of June, the Logistics Manager will join her, but he'll be back next time...
And last but not least, we have a new colleague in HR for the last two weeks. Daniela Víznerová RACR as an HR specialist is now mainly responsible for recruitment of new employees and selection and implementation of HR systems. He has extensive experience in both and also works as a lecturer in labour law. I don't think I could have asked for anyone better for the current needs of our company. We currently have about 20 different positions open - from quality to launch, production, and all sorts of technical positions. All of them are continuously appearing on Jobs.cz and in the future, on our career site. If none of the currently advertised positions appeal to you, but you would still be interested in working for us, please send your CV directly to me (davidhavelec@nobo-auto.com) or Danc (daniela.viznerova@nobo-auto.com) and we will be happy to contact you to discuss the possibilities.

Plans for the next period
Related to the open positions is the fact that from 1 September we would like to welcome the first employees who will be responsible for the production of the first seats. We plan to recruit so-called product specialists who will be in intensive contact with our partner plant in China, where the first seat samples are already being built. And then they will pass on this extensive knowledge to our employees in České Budějovice from next year. But for the HR department this means a whole new set of tasks - of course we have to find these employees, but at the same time we have to prepare the company for the arrival of the first tariff employees - that means ensuring all the standard requirements...
And so I have a feeling that even during the summer and holidays I will have something to write about :-)
